Donna
Shearman, owner of THE PILATES STUDIO, is a Certified
Pilates Instructor and Certified Personal Trainer. She is a
graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of General
Studies degree. Donna has 18 years experience in fitness and
personal training. She received her first Pilates certification in
New York in 1998 from The Physical Mind Institute. In 2003, she completed the Body Arts and Science International
Certification (BASI) in Vail, CO. She is also a certified personal
trainer through ACE. She is a member of the Pilates Method
Alliance (PMA), a national organization dedicated to insuring the
safety of the public by making sure instructors are
comprehensively trained and qualified to teach Pilates. Recently,
Donna has become Gold Certified, the highest
certification level from PMA. The Pilates Studio is beginning its
8th year in Baton Rouge. The studio is now offering an
instructor certification program through Body Arts and
Science International.
Tara Grace Jones, apprentice pursuing certification from
BASI. She has been a student of Pilates since 2008.
What
We Offer:
THE PILATES STUDIO
is a fully equipped studio, including the Cadillac, reformers,
chair, ladder barrel, small barrels, and magic circles.

Private Sessions:
one-on-one with
a trainer, the instruction emphasizing individual attention and
use of all equipment.

Semi-private
Sessions: is 2-3
people with one trainer. Two private sessions are required before being placed in
a semi-private. The instruction here is still based an individual
workout, you just share the hour with other people.

Small Group
Classes:
consist of 4-5 people in a class. The class is half matwork and
half reformer work. Small barrel and magic circle work are
also incorporated in the workouts. Most classes meet twice a week. Two
private sessions are required before being placed in a class.
All classes and
sessions are 55 minutes.
All classes are paid in advance for the month.
